Today is Friday. Normally, our Fridays are taken up by various commitments, but today is different. It is snowing and blowing where I live, enough that our normal routine has been interrupted. I would normally be supervising a noisy room full of small children, but instead find myself sitting in our quiet conservatory with my teenage daughters. It's a welcome reprieve.
My prayer is that this "found time" will not be squandered on selfish pursuits or wasted in any number of ways, but rather that I will submit it to God, as He is the creator and sustainer of time. How easily and justifiably I could do just that, which would lead me to missing out on God's plan for my day. I choose to lean on His faithfulness and provision, confident that His purpose will be worked out in my life today.
